FAQ

What age children does House of Sleep support?

I support families with children ages 4 months to 5 years old.

Babies 0-3 months old are too young to follow actual schedules or to learn self settling skills. Newborns also have stores of melatonin, the sleep hormone, from their time in the womb so their body is not able to follow a sleep pattern (circadian rhythm) yet. Use these newborn months to bond with your child. If your newborn baby is having a very hard time sleeping, please email me and I am happy to share some tips free of charge.

Does House of Sleep do in person/in home consulting?

I support families through email and phone calls only at this time. This means I can help anyone in the United States!

Be on the lookout for in person seminars coming soon.

Does House of Sleep suggest the same sleep training method for all children?

No! Unlike many sleep consultants and sleep support books/websites, I suggest different methods for different ages, stages, and family styles.

Does House of Sleep instruct families to leave a baby to cry indefinitely to fall asleep?

No. I will suggest gentle sleep training methods that all include a caregiver supporting the child through the sleep training process. There might be crying during the process because that is how a child communicates their confusion at first. However, there will be lots of time for loving support to the child to balance this out. Also, in the long term, there is less crying at bedtime with a confident, consistent approach that leads to peaceful sleep.

What does House of Sleep do to help families achieve their sleep goals?

So much! There are many parts to a good sleep foundation. We will look at your child's nutrition, their before bed routine, their daily schedule, their sleep environment, their unique sleep needs, and more.

Does House of Sleep take insurance or offer discounts?

I do not accept insurance. I offer a 10% discount to families with a parent that is a first responder or teacher.
